2013 Fundamental Camp

The Fundamental Camp is for girls entering grades 3 through the 9th grade (Campers must be 10 years old to stay in dorm). This camp emphasizes the teaching of fundamentals, developing basic knowledge of the game, competition, and having fun. All campers will be allowed to compete in various fundamental drills as well as on assigned teams. Campers will be divided according to grade and skill level for all games and instructional sessions.

Cost: $275 for Overnight Campers (Includes Room & Board. See Discount Options Below)

$240 for Day/Evening Campers. Campers dismissed at 8:30p.m. (Includes Lunch & Dinner. See Discount Options Below)


$175 for 8am-5pm Daytime Campers. Campers do NOT participate in evening session. (Includes lunch only. Discounts Do Not Apply)

SFA Faculty & Staff Members - $15 Discount

Upon receipt of your application, confirmation will be emailed or sent to your mailing address (if you do not have email) confirming your registration.

Special Features

  • Overnight campers are supervised in the dorm by women coaches and SFA players.
  • Each camper will receive a camp basketball and camp t-shirt.
  • Camp participation and completion awards will be given to each camper.
  • Participants receive plenty of individual work and attention.  All drills and instructions are under game-like conditions.
  • Contest winners will receive certificates and awards.
  • Campers will have the opportunity to participate in Free Throw Contests, 3-Point Shot Contests, and Hot Shot Contests.
  • Tournament game winners will receive awards.
  • Basketball t-shirts and other camp gear will be available in the camp store.

Check-In: Instructions will be sent out by e-mail pertaining to check-in times and location. This information will be available as soon as housing assignments have been made for the camp, and will be posted on our website as soon as it becomes available.

What to Bring: Overnight campers should bring sheets or sleeping bag, blanket, pillow, towels, personal toiletries, and an alarm clock for their stay in the dorm.  Workout items should include t-shirts, shorts, basketball shoes, and athletic socks.  Spending money will also be needed if camper wants to visit concessions or camp store.

Camp Regulations: Campers will NOT be allowed to leave campus unless they are with a supervised camp group.

Health and Medical: Certified athletic trainers will be present at all camp activities. Medical facilities (the SFA University Health Clinic, Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital, and Nacogdoches Medical Center) will be available if needed.
